The Church of Christ in Hampton is a non-denominational congregation that is devoted to simple New Testament Christianity. Our only creed is, “Jesus is Lord”, and the Bible is our final authority. Our desire is to be the church that Jesus intended.

We are part of a movement that began over 160 years ago as an effort to restore Christian unity, and to restore simple New Testament practices. We speak where the Bible speaks and we are silent where the Bible is silent. We do not claim to be the only Christians, but claim the name Christian only.

We practice the two ordinances that Jesus commanded. Christian Baptism is the immersion of a person who has repented of their sin, and confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, as practiced in the New Testament. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every week as a simple memorial of Christ’s death for our benefit.

Our goal is the same as the church in the New Testament. It is to honor God by worshipping Him from our hearts, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with as many as possible, preparing followers of Christ for their own ministries, and serving the needs of the people around us.

In order to accomplish these things, it is important that we be united in what is essential, recognize our freedom in non-essentials, and demonstrate love in all that we do.
